Partnership for Prescription Assistance – A No-Fee Program Facilitates the Delivery of Pharmaceutical Costs Help

It is the PPA’s ongoing goal to enlist the participation of other health care/financial aid organizations that can broaden the PPA’s data base of prescription help resources, and to date, over 1,300 local, state, and federal organizations have formed a nationwide alliance that:

  • Provides no-fee services designed to help the uninsured, underinsured, needy individual or family with financial assistance for prescription medicine costs
  • Provides a single source of information on over 475 public and private prescription costs assistance programs – including approximately 200 such programs that are sponsored by pharmaceutical companies
  • Provides eligible parties with over 2,500 brand-name medications, as well as a wide variety of generic drugs
  • Helps to facilitate contact and aid in ongoing communications between individuals and federally sponsored programs such as Medicare and Medicaid
  • Provides information on over 40 programs that are specifically designed to help eligible parties with the health care and medication needs of children
  • Disseminates information about free health care services in individual communities in all regions of the country

Assistance – Two TV Personalities lend a hand

Since its 2005 inception, the PPA has launched chapters in all 50 states, as well as Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico. The PPA sponsors two buses that travel across the country spreading its “Help is Here Express” message about programs that can help eligible parties with health care and prescription medication costs.

In January of 2006, the PPA announced that TV talk show host Montel Williams would become the organization’s national spokesperson, and in June of the same year, Latino TV personality Mayte Prida signed on as a spokesperson to the Hispanic community. To contact the PPA online, go to their Web site www.pparx.org or for information on children’s programs visit www.pparx.org. You can also call the PPA toll-free at
