Brown Bagging

"Brown bagging" drugs is a growing problem for independent oncologists in several areas of the country.

The Oncology Nursing Society has adopted a position that Medicare should "l not implement or allow the use of cost-cutting strategies, such as brown-bagging, which interfere with quality cancer care and unfairly burden Medicare beneficiaries with responsibilities for purchasing and handling expensive and often temperature- or light-sensitive therapies."
